越接近墨西哥邊境就越多邊境警察，這條進來美國的偷渡客是算相對較多的地方，但偷渡者要成功也很不容易，因為高速公路上有間大型的*檢查哨站，專門整車掃描，車底檢查。

這條路非常曬，常常找不到遮蔽物好好休息，有時候我會躲在藏在叢裡的警車後休息…，畢竟警察也知道怎麼躲才比較隱密，找到警車就代表…屬於我的休息站到了…。

警察打開了車門後下來和我聊天，這其實出乎我意料之外。

《嘿！你好嗎？你需要什麼嗎？》

《我…我只需要找個休息…等等就離開了》

《你從哪裡來的？》

《洛杉磯》

警察開始對我卸下了戒心，近距離地看她的臉，是一名很漂亮的女警，她叫karen。

 

 

Karen知道我去過很多國家，突然問了我：

《你來自台灣，台灣安全嗎？我明年想要自己短期旅行》

《特別安全，但是你應該附近的國家也要順便走走，像是日本》

《英格蘭你覺得如何呢？》

《呀！我討厭英格蘭！那邊對我這樣的流浪者非常難生存！如果沒有想法的話，先去西班牙吧，喜歡吃巧克力或者放鬆義大利是首選，對歷史和啤酒有興趣就德國，對大麻…》

我講的太快，似乎忘記了她是一名警察…

我好奇的問了Karen：

《這一陣子妳們有抓到…，亞洲的偷渡客嗎？》

《有喔，前陣子抓到一位韓國的偷渡客，他還說了一口很好的英文呢！》

這真跌破我的眼鏡，萬萬沒想到竟然有韓國偷渡客。

Well, this time, the police actually stepped out of the car and came to chat with me, which was beyond my expectation.

“Hey! Are you OK? Do you need any help? “

“I…I just need to take a rest. I’ll leave pretty soon”

“where do you come from? “

 

“Los Angeles”

Then the police officer gradually let her guard down. I got a chance to look closely at her face. She was very beautiful. Her name was Karen.

After learning that I have been to many countries, Karen suddenly asked me:

“You are from Taiwan, is Taiwan safe? I want to take a short trip by myself next year.”

“It’s very safe, but you should also visit nearby countries, like Japan“

“What do you think of England? “

“Ah! I’m not a fan of England! It’s very difficult for a traveller like me to survive there! If you have no preference, go to Spain first. If you like chocolate or just want to relax, Italy is the top choice. If you are interested in history and beer, go to Germany. If you like marijua…”

I was talking so fast I seemed to forget she was a police officer …

Out of curiosity, I asked Karen:

“Have you caught… any illegal immigrants from Asia recently?” “

“Yes, we encountered one from Korea a while ago, and he spoke very good English! “

This is really surprising to me. I never thought there would be Korean doing this.
